1. $303K Contract, City Manager Agrees To Renew His Stay (patch.com) — Residents in Napa County’s American Canyon will see continuity at City Hall as City Manager Jason Holley has agreed to a new six-year contract worth a base salary of $303,000. Holley, who has led the city since 2017 and previously served as public works director, received strong praise from councilmembers for his leadership and guidance of city operations.
   

2. Pets Pulled to Safety From Napa Apartment Fire (patch.com) — Napa firefighters rushed to an apartment off Old Sonoma Road after a blaze broke out, rescuing two dogs and two cats from the smoke-filled building. Crews quickly knocked down the flames, used special FIDO masks to give the pets oxygen, and reported that all animals are expected to recover, with no other injuries in the Napa incident.
   

3. New Bay Area hydrogen plant aims to boost clean energy supply for North Bay and state (pressdemocrat.com) — Napa’s Vine Transit maintenance hub is already built with hydrogen-ready service bays, positioning local buses to tap into a new Bay Area hydrogen supply expected in 2026. Napa-based Biagi Bros. is also wrestling with hydrogen fuel shortages for its truck fleet, and both could benefit if Pittsburg’s K2 plant delivers cheaper, locally produced hydrogen.
   

4. California Farm Bureau holds annual meeting, elects leader (appeal-democrat.com) — Napa’s farm community is gaining influence, with August D’Amato of Napa elected chair of the statewide Young Farmers & Ranchers committee and serving on the Napa County Farm Bureau board. The California Farm Bureau’s annual meeting also praised membership growth in the Napa County Farm Bureau and re-elected St. Helena’s Johnnie White to represent Marin, Napa and Sonoma counties.
