Deputy Saves Man From Fentanyl Overdose In Napa County

NAPA COUNTY, CA — A Napa County sheriff’s deputy recently saved a man’s life after the man overdosed on fentanyl, according to police.

Deputy Greg Landry arrested the man on July 27 and was taking him to jail when the man said he felt sick and had swallowed fentanyl shortly before his arrest, according to police. Body camera footage posted on social media by the sheriff’s office showed Landry calmly giving the man two doses of Narcan and taking him to a medical facility to receive care.

“Deputy Landry, who has been a deputy for less than a year, responded like a hero and saved the man's life,” the social media post said, adding that Landry received a lifesaving medal from Sheriff Oscar Ortiz.
