NAPA VALLEY, CA — Although Labor Day marked the end of summer, there is nothing fall-like about the weather forecast this week for Napa Valley, the North Bay and the greater San Francisco Bay Area.
In Napa Valley, high temperatures are forecast in the 90s and triple digits this week, with the peak of the hot-weather system expected mid-week.
A National Weather Service heat advisory has been issued for Wednesday and Thursday for the Marin coastal range, Sonoma coastal range, North Bay interior valleys and mountains, Santa Clara Valley, including San Jose and Southern Salinas Valley, Arroyo Seco, Lake San Antonio, the East Bay hills and interior valleys, Eastern Santa Clara hills, Santa Cruz mountains, Santa Lucia mountains, Los Padres National Forest, the mountains of San Benito and interior Monterey County including Pinnacles National Park.

The advisory is from 11 a.m. Wednesday to 11 p.m. Thursday, when temps in the 95-105 range are expected.
Weather conditions this week pose a moderate heat risk across inland areas.

"This heat affects individuals sensitive to heat, especially those without effective cooling and/or adequate hydration," the weather service said.
Residents are encouraged to limit outdoor activities in the late afternoon and evening, stay hydrated and take cooling breaks.
"Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors," weather officials said. "Young children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles under any circumstances."

Residents who work or spend time outdoors are encouraged to take extra precautions and know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.
"Wear lightweight and loose-fitting clothing when possible," the weather service. "To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air-conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an emergency! Call 911."
