Napa County Declares Emergency, Allots $9.4M For Storm Response
Landslides and flooding caused damage to several roadways and bridges across the county.
NAPA COUNTY, CA — The Napa County Board of Supervisors approved a local emergency proclamation Tuesday to recoup costs associated with recovering from the impacts of severe weather earlier this month.
Starting Feb. 4, a series of winter storms brought heavy rain, wind and flooding that resulted in landslides, fallen trees in public right-of-way areas, and damage to roads and bridges across Napa County, according to a statement from county officials.
Supervisors appropriated $9.4 million to fund response, recovery and repairs for the following areas of the county:

- Redwood Road at mile marker 2.3 (see photo)
- Rossi Road at Conn Creek
- Ridgecrest Drive
- Cleanup and removal of small slides on Soda Canyon Road, Langtry Road and Mt. Veeder Road; disposal of storm debris
- Berryessa Knoxville Road at mile marker 4.0
- Mt. Veeder Rd. at Mt. Veeder Road at mile marker 5.25
- Mt. Veeder at Mt. Veeder Road at mile marker 4.0
The emergency declaration was a necessary step for the county to secure state and federal reimbursement for money spent on storm preparation, response and recovery.
