Napa County Under Wind Advisory; Outages Possible

Winds of 20-30 mph with gusts up to 40-50 mph may result in down limbs and power outages, the National Weather Service said.

NAPA COUNTY, CA — A wind advisory was issued through 10 a.m. Wednesday for parts of the Bay Area, including Napa County and the mountains and interior valleys of the North Bay.

With north-northeast winds of 20-30 mph and gusts up to 40-50 mph in the forecast, residents were encouraged to secure loose outdoor objects that could be blown around or damaged by the wind.

"Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects," the National Weather Service said. "Tree
limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result."

Extra caution is urged while driving, as winds this strong can make it difficult, especially for high-profile vehicles, the weather service said.

The advisory applies to the San Francisco-Marin coastal range, North Bay interior mountains, Coastal North Bay including Point Reyes National Seashore, North Bay interior valleys, San Francisco Bay shoreline, San Francisco Peninsula coast, East Bay interior valleys, East Bay hills, Santa Cruz Mountains and Eastern Santa Clara hills.
