Napa Storm Impacts: Power Outages, Flooded Roads

NAPA COUNTY, CA — Over 500 PG&E customers were without power Tuesday morning as Napa County and the Bay area region dealt with storm-related impacts.

An outage in southeastern Napa County near Lake Curry started at 6:47 a.m. Tuesday and was affecting 500 customers. The preliminary determination was the outage was caused by weather, PG&E said on its website. PG&E did not say when power might be restored.

In the North Bay, residual delays from flooding were reported on in the North Bay on westbound state Highway 12 between Watmaugh Road and Fremont Drive, and on the eastbound and westbound Highway 12 between 8th Street East and Arnold Drive.

Around 11 a.m. Tuesday on state Highway 128, the California Highway Patrol reported moving large rocks out of the roadway at mile marker 16.65 near Chalk Hill Road.

There was a 90 percent chance of rain forecast Tuesday for the region. Forecasters expected scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms to increase Tuesday afternoon and evening.

Localized flooding was possible for areas that experienced heavy rainfall.

A wind advisory was in effect for the Bay Area and Central Coast until 4 p.m.

Through Wednesday morning, a flood watch was also issued for much of the Bay Area, including the North Bay interior mountains and the North Bay interior valleys.

According to the National Weather Service, drier conditions will return for mid to late week, with rain returning for the weekend, which appears to be beneficial and not concerning.
