A Nosy Four-Legged Crime Fighter Joins Napa County Sheriff

Nova, the newest member of the Napa County Sheriff's Office — a trained K-9 —helped deputies sniff out guns during a recent investigation.

NAPA VALLEY, CA — Nova, the newest member of the Napa County Sheriff's Office — a trained K-9 —helped deputies sniff out more than a dozen guns during a search on Tuesday.

She accompanied a team serving a search warrant at a residence that was prohibited from having firearms.

With Nova's help, they recovered 13 guns.

She earned praise from the sheriff's office and on Facebook.

"Great job !! Nova deserves a good treat," a follower posted.

Nova, a two-year-old Belgian Malinois, joined the department in February.
