North Bay Senior Turns 100, Celebrates A Century Of Stories
When asked about the secret to her longevity, former Napa resident Josephine "Jo" Seifert offered simple yet timeless advice.
NORTH BAY, CA—Former Napa resident Josephine “Jo” Seifert has seen a lot in her 100 years—and she’s got the stories to prove it.
Earlier this month, The Village at Rancho Solano in Fairfield celebrated Seifert’s 100th birthday, marking a life filled with love, family, and a commitment to helping others. When asked about the secret to her longevity, she offered a simple yet timeless piece of advice: “Just follow the rules. They’re there for a reason.”
Born in Los Angeles on March 5, 1925, Seifert grew up in a family of Sicilian immigrants who brought their traditions and values to California. She built a career as a legal secretary, met and married her husband, Floyd, and together they raised three children: Jodie, Dennis and Jim. Today, Seifert’s family includes six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, each a reflection of her enduring legacy.

Seifert’s impact extends beyond her family. For 70 years, she was a consistent blood donor at Queen of the Valley Medical Center in Napa, becoming the hospital's longest-serving donor. Her commitment to giving back has left a lasting impression on her community.
A skilled bridge player, Seifert spent years teaching the game to others and sharing her knowledge and passion with those around her. At The Village at Rancho Solano, Seifert is known for her love of Italian food, her quick wit, and her ability to connect with others. Whether discussing her favorite dishes or sharing stories from her life, Seifert's presence brings a sense of warmth and connection to everyone she meets.
