Suspect In Police Shooting Arrested After 7-Hour Standoff In Napa County
During negotiations to get a 54-year-old man to surrender, the suspect allegedly fired multiple rounds at deputies.
NAPA COUNTY, CA —A 54-year-old man who allegedly shot at Napa County sheriff's deputies was arrested after a seven-hour standoff Thursday night.
Deputies were first called about 8:45 p.m. Thursday to a domestic disturbance at a home on Tobin Avenue in Angwin, an unincorporated community of Napa County near St. Helena.
Before deputies arrived, Luis Armando Alvarado had allegedly fired a gun inside the house. Everyone at the house escaped safely, but Alvarado remained barricaded inside, the sheriff's office said.

SWAT teams from the sheriff's office and Napa police were deployed, along with crisis negotiators.

After seven hours, less-lethal rounds were fired into the home and Alvarado was arrested about 4 a.m.
He was booked into the Napa County Jail on suspicion of attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon.
