SAN FERNANDO, CA — A man charged with attempted murder and other counts for allegedly stabbing his estranged girlfriend multiple times at her Sunland home has been extradited from Texas, where he was arrested, the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office said Friday.

Nick Pasqual, 34, pleaded not guilty Thursday in a San Fernando courtroom and was ordered to remain jailed without bail while awaiting his next court date July 16, according to the District Attorney's Office.

Pasqual was charged May 24 with one count each of attempted murder, first-degree residential burglary with a person present and injuring a spouse, cohabitant, fiance, boyfriend, girlfriend or child's parent.

The charges include allegations that Pasqual inflicted great bodily injury on the victim under circumstances involving domestic violence and that he personally used a knife during the crime, according to the District Attorney's Office.

Pasqual -- who was named in a restraining order recently sought by the woman -- allegedly broke into her home at about 4:30 a.m. May 23 and stabbed her multiple times, according to the District Attorney's Office.

Pasqual allegedly fled the scene and was subsequently detained at a U.S.-Mexico border checkpoint in Sierra Blanca, Texas, according to the District Attorney's Office.

The woman, identified in media reports and on a GoFundMe page as makeup artist Allie Shehorn, was initially hospitalized in an intensive care unit, but has since been moved out of that unit, according to the fundraising site. The page states that Shehorn was attacked by her ex-boyfriend.

Pasqual arrived at Los Angeles International Airport late Wednesday.

He could face life in state prison if convicted as charged, according to the District Attorney's Office.

The Los Angeles Times reported that Shehorn met Pasqual -- described as a background actor -- on the set of the Netflix film "Rebel Moon."
