Firefighters Tackle Northridge Condo Fire

The cause of a blaze at a two-story condo in Northridge is under investigation.

NORTHRIDGE, CA — Firefighters Tuesday knocked down a fire in the kitchen walls of a two-story condominium in Northridge.

Crews were dispatched at 2:38 p.m. to the 17700 block of West Devonshire Street, where they encountered light smoke and found workers in the kitchen of the unit, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Firefighters determined there was fire in the walls moving toward the second floor.

"Working quickly to locate the fire, firefighters (kept) it from extending and damaging the entire structure," according to an LAFD statement.
