Game N' Grounds Opens In Chatsworth
Northridge residents George and Angharad Caceres just opened a funky gaming cafe in Chatsworth and hope it will become a community hub.

CHATSWORTH, CA — Game n' Grounds had its long-awaited soft opening in Chatsworth on March 15, offering a dedicated gaming and hangout space in the San Fernando Valley.
Game n' Grounds is a cafe with an extensive game library for customers to play while they sip coffee and indulge in such food as paninis, breakfast burritos and pastries.

Owner George Caceres, who opened the store with his wife, Angharad Caceres, said opening week was hectic but went well. The store was well-received by customers, and while there is still some work to be done, many aspects of the store worked perfectly, such as the flow of game stations and the ambiance.

"What we are trying to do here is build a community for gamers and friends and family to come and relax, have some food, drink and play games," George Caceres said.
The couple tried to open the store in November 2021 but got delayed by various pandemic-related obstacles. They opened as quickly as possible, with their last health inspection just one day before the soft opening, Caceres said.

Angharad Caceres already owned a business across the street, a craft store called Craftiness. As Northridge residents, George and Angharad Caceres were interested in building community spaces in the Valley, George Caceres said.

Game n' Grounds was inspired by a gaming cafe in Seattle called Meeples, George Caceres said. George and Angharad Caceres realized there wasn't anything quite like Meeples in the San Fernando Valley and wanted to create a space for gamers and nongamers alike to hang out and have a good time, George Caceres said.
