Elder Abuse Reported In Palm Desert, Arrest Made: RSO

PALM DESERT, CA — A 38-year-old Coachella man was arrested Monday following a months-long investigation into alleged elder abuse.
Miguel Angel Gonzalez is being held at the John Benoit Detention Center in Indio on suspicion of elder abuse and grand theft. He is due in court Wednesday, jail records show.
The investigation into Gonzalez began Aug. 20 when deputies were called to the 100 block of Gold Canyon Drive in Palm Desert regarding a report of elder abuse. The victims told investigators that Gonzalez stole nearly $100,000 from them over a period of several years.

It's unclear what evidence investigators obtained to verify the claims, but jail records show Gonzalez was taken into custody Monday afternoon. The arrest location was the 84000 block of Calle Diego in Coachella.
