Hidden Camera Helps Solve San Leandro Homicide: Report
The victim recorded the fatal shooting before the suspect's arrest, according to police.

SAN LEANDRO, CA — A hidden camera carried by the victim of a fatal shooting in San Leandro captured his own murder, providing crucial evidence that led to the arrest of his ex-girlfriend, according to a report by the Bay Aaea News Group.
David Ramirez, 43, was shot and killed on August 20, inside the home of Analleli Garcia-Mejia, 36, who had previously lived with him. Investigators say the footage showed Garcia-Mejia shooting Ramirez in their living room and then attempting to destroy the camera.
Garcia-Mejia initially called 911, claiming both she and Ramirez had been shot during a domestic violence incident, according to police. She was found with a gunshot wound to her leg when officers arrived, but Ramirez had already died as a result of his injuries. The case took a pivotal turn when investigators discovered the hidden camera under the kitchen sink, revealing the events that led to the shooting.
