San Ramon Valley Education Foundation 40th Run for Education Coming
The Run for Education is the largest run supporting education in Northern California, organizers said.
SAN RAMON, CA — The San Ramon Valley Education Foundation will hold its '40th Run for Education' Sunday, Oct. 8 and the community is invited to join in on the fun.
"A full day of activities is planned for serious runners, casual walkers, parents and caregivers pushing strollers, adults, and children alike," the city of San Ramon said in a Facebook post published early Tuesday morning. "Come for The Run and stay for the Fun."
According to the posting, the annual event will feature a 10K that starts at Charlotte Wood Middle School, 600 El Capitan Drive in Danville, live bands, a kids’ zone, school choirs, food, refreshing drinks, and more to celebrate excellence in education in the San Ramon Valley Unified School District.

A 5K that starts and finishes in San Ramon, a virtual run, a mini run and a friendship run will also be held.
The Run for Education is a tradition in the San Ramon Valley spanning 40 years and is the primary fundraising activity for San Ramon Valley Education Foundation, organizers said in a news release about the event, which includes participants, volunteers and spectators from all 35 SRVUSD schools.

"The Run for Education is also the largest run that supports education in Northern California," the news release said.
