Santee Lakes To Host First-Ever Spooktacular And Trunk-Or-Treat Event

The new event will feature a ghoulish day of games, a giant maze, face painting, creepy crafts, festive photo opportunities and more.

SANTEE, CA — Santee Lakes is celebrating the spooky season with its first-ever large-scale Halloween event.

Spooktacular and Trunk-or-Treat, slated for Saturday, will feature a ghoulish day of games, a giant maze, face painting, creepy crafts, festive photo opportunities and more at Santee Lakes Recreation Preserve.

"We want to share what Santee Lakes has to offer," Cory Kading, director of Park and Recreation for Santee Lakes, told Patch.

"Free events like Spooktacular create an opportunity to engage with our community, allowing guests to experience the beauty of Santee Lakes," Kading added. "We feel that providing family-friendly events supports community growth and allows residents to connect in a safe, fun atmosphere."

Attendees are encouraged to dress up in their costumers for the event, which will also include a Mary's Donut Walk and a Trunk-or-Treat featuring local businesses that will be decorating their trunks and handing out candy.

Big Dev's Down-Home BBQ and Rise & Grind Coffee will also be at the event.

Spooktacular and Trunk-or-Treat will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Santee Lakes at 9310 Fanita Parkway. Parking costs $7.
