2 Killed In Colorado Plane Crash: Authorities
The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the crash.

BROOMFIELD, CO — Two people died Sunday when a single-engine plane crashed in a residential area of Broomfield, according to authorities.
The incident occurred around noon in the Anthem Ranch neighborhood near Lowell Boulevard and Las Brisas Drive, according to Broomfield police. There were no survivors, according to the North Metro Fire Rescue District, which reported no bystanders were injured and no homes were damaged.
The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the crash and identified the plane as a Piper 32-260. The aircraft had taken off from Erie Municipal Airport, less than a mile from the site of the crash, according to the Denver Post. The plane narrowly missed a home in the area, the Daily Camera reported.

The intersection of Las Brisas Drive and Anthem Ranch Road was expected to be closed for several hours due to the investigation, the fire district tweeted about 1:30 p.m.
Sunday’s crash was the second such incident in less than two weeks. A person died May 11 in a single-engine plane crash near Interlocken Loop and Eldorado Boulevard, not far from the Rocky Mountain Metropolitan Airport in Broomfield.
