Boulder 11-Year-Old Found After Overnight Search, Reverse 911
The boy, described as having autism, ran away from his South Boulder home at about 8 p.m. Thursday night.
BOULDER, CO -- Police located a missing 11-year-old boy, described by officials as autistic, shortly before midnight following an overnight search in South Boulder's Martin Acres neighborhood. The boy reportedly ran away from home at about 8 p.m. and family members were unable to locate him, according to Boulder Police Department news releases.
By 11:20 p.m., police officers had deployed search and rescue dogs in the area of the boy's disappearance, and at 11:41 a reverse 911 call was sent out to neighbors in the area. The four-hour search concluded just before midnight when officers announced that the child had been found.
The Boulder Fire Department, American Medical Response, CU Boulder Police Department, Search and Rescue Dogs of the United States, Boulder Emergency Squad, and Boulder Police Unmanned Aerial Systems all also helped with the search efforts.
