Boulder Companies Among Inc. Magazine's 'Best Places To Work'

Nine Colorado firms landed on fourth annual list of exceptional workplaces as determined by myriad metrics.

BOULDER, CO — Several Colorado companies made Inc. magazine's made the list of "The 346 Best Places to Work in 2019" published Friday, an annual compilation of firms the publication views as ideal work environments.

"A record number of companies clamored for recognition in our fourth annual Best Workplaces survey," Inc. magazine analysts wrote. "In a tight labor market, these businesses are out to nab top-performing employees by making life on the job ever more rewarding."

Companies making the list can be searched by state, industry, company size, and benefits —including generous parental leave, onsite medical and fitness, pet-friendly policies, tuition reimbursement, and more.

Two Boulder companies made the national list:

  • Small software company CampMinder made the list. The company, in the 25-45 employee category, creates scheduling software for summer camps.
  • Resolute Recruiting USA, a boutique headhunting firm also made the list.

Statewide, nine Colorado-based companies made the list, each categorized as micro, small, medium, large or extra large in terms of the size of their employee base. In the latter category, Fort Collins-based Madwire — with 500-plus employees — made the cut. At the other end of the spectrum Resolute Recruiting USA was listed as a "microfirm" with 10-24 workers.

Here are the Colorado firms that made the list:

  • Adswerve - Denver, an online marketing firm, medium-large (100 - 249 employees).
  • BombBomb – Colorado Springs, a software firm that inserts video messages in email, medium-large (100 - 249 employees).
  • Choozle - Denver, a digital advertising software platform with 50-99 employees.
  • CKD Technology Partners - Wheat Ridge is a "micro firm" with 10-24 employees, that builds web and mobile applications for the health care industry.
  • Madwire - Fort Collins Adversiting platform for small businesses with 500-plus employees.
  • Sunshine Plumbing Heating Air - Henderson, is a family-owned construction company.
  • Vivax Pros - Denver, is a home improvement agency specializing in painting and new windows.

Employees from nearly 2,000 companies of all sizes and industries were surveyed with research conducted by Omaha’s Quantum Workplace. Topics that were part of the surveying mix included trust, management effectiveness, perks, and confidence in the future. Inc. gathered, analyzed and audited the data. Once gathered, the data then determined ranking with use of a composite score of survey results.

This year, Inc. magazine reported, 74.2 percent of surveyed employees are engaged by their work — besting last year’s 72.1 percent.
