Boulder County, Colo. - Boulder County Parks & Open Space will host its annual public meeting concerning prairie dog management on Boulder County Parks & Open Space properties on Tuesday, Dec. 14, from 5 to 6:30 p.m.
Staff will be available to discuss the variety of activities conducted in 2021 and how the department manages prairie dogs on open space properties, including agricultural lands. Public comment is invited.

Staff will also discuss changes proposed to Section 8.3.3 of the Prairie Dog Habitat Element of the Grassland and Shrubland Management Policy regarding the seasonal moratorium on lethal control. The public process for this proposed changed will begin Wednesday, Dec. 15, with a public comment form. This item is scheduled to be presented to the Parks & Open Space Advisory Committee (POSAC) on Thursday, Jan. 27, followed by a presentation to the BOCC for approval at a date to be determined.
