Boulder YWCA To Provide Buses To 2019 Denver Womxn's March

Where to catch one, and what the name change to "Womxn's March" means.

BOULDER, CO -- There is no shortage of activists in Boulder County eager to participate in the Womxn's March each year in Denver. After several years in which eager protestors were left waiting at bus stops as overfull RTD Flatiron Flyers rolled by, and neighborhood carpools were forced to leave hours early to hope to snag some Denver parking, the YWCA of Boulder County has a solution.

The YWCA, located at 2222 14th St. in Boulder, will be providing a bus service to all interested participants. Doors will open at at 7 a.m. for hot drinks and organizing. The first buses will leave at 7:30 a.m. and the last buses will leave at 7:45 a.m. for a quick drop off at Denver's Civic Center Park. Participants are asked to register beforehand to facilitate planning.

The service is free of charge, but participants and supporters who are able are encouraged to make a donation on the YWCA website.

"If you are able to make a donation or sponsor a rider, we appreciate the support, but want to make sure there are no barriers to any voice joining this movement," reads the YWCA event posting.

Previously known as the Women's March, organizers chose to alter the name to Womxn's March for 2019.

"We believe in equity and we act with purpose to make space for trans, non-binary, and genderqueer persons in our name," explains their website. "We must all commit to doing the work. We must speak our truths and listen to others speaking theirs. We must commit to anti-oppressive principles and goals, with marginalized persons at the center of our movements. We must act, to dismantle systems that harm, and to create new systems that uplift."

The YWCA will offer two return options to Boulder with one set of buses leaving from Denver at 12:30 p.m. and another at 1:30 p.m.
