Boulder's Creator Of Wild America Sues National Geographic

A suit containing accusations of copyright infringement was filed in U.S. District Court in Denver on Wednesday.

BOULDER, CO -- Wild America creator, Boulder's Marty Stouffer has filed a lawsuit against National Geographic, claiming that several of the network's wildlife TV programs mimic his shows so closely that it could amount to copyright infringement, according to a report from the Denver Post. Stouffer's civil suit was filed in Denver District Court on Wednesday.

According to the lawsuit, Wild America is the most broadcast TV show in Public Broadcasting Service history and the most successful nature and documentary television series ever produced, the Post reported.

Some of the shows mentioned in the suit include the 1972 documentary "Bighorn!" and the 1977 prime-time special, "The Predators".
