Climber Falls in Gregory Canyon: Sheriff's Office

BOULDER, CO -- A man in his early 20s was treated at the hospital for non-life threatening injuries after falling 20 or 30 feet while climbing in Gregory Canyon Wednesday, according to a report from the Boulder County Sheriff's Office. Shortly before 2 p.m., the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office, along with personnel from the Rocky Mountain Rescue Group, City of Boulder Open Space and Mountain Parks, and the City of Boulder Fire, were dispatched to a report of a fallen climber on the Amphitheater Trail.

Search and rescue personnel began searching the area along the trail and were able to located the injured man, according to the sheriff's office. He was reportedly bouldering in the area when he slipped and fell. He suffered an injury to his back and was carried out by rescue personnel before being transported to a local hospital.
