Crashed Paraglider Calls Police To Say He Is, Indeed, OK

Medical personnel still came by to check him out.

BOULDER, CO -- A man tried to call off his own search party in Boulder on Tuesday afternoon after he was involved in a paragliding accident. At about 3 p.m., the Boulder County Communications Center received a 911 call from a caller in the area of 500 Northstar Court, according to a news release from the Boulder County Sheriff's Department.

The caller reported seeing a paraglider crash about a half mile away, high up on the ridge in the area of Lee Hill and Wagon Wheel Gap Road. As emergency personnel responded to the area, the Boulder County Communications Center received a second phone call from a 32-year-old male who identified himself as the person who had crashed the. Although he reported he was fine, not injured, and did not need any assistance, medical personnel still arrived at the scene just to check him out.
