Dozens Of Bikes Stolen In North Boulder New Year's Heist

"This is not their first time," said shop owner Tom Stradalli.

BOULDER, CO -- It was tough day to say "Happy New Year" this Jan. 1 at North Boulder's Stradalli Carbon Sports. Owners arrived to find more than 30 bikes, along with wheels, tools, and apparel, had been stolen from the shop overnight. The shop, which specializes in ultra-light carbon components was a recent arrival to its North Broadway location, moving in at the end of 2017.

Owner Tom Stradalli told the Daily Camera that it appeared the suspects cut power and phone lines at around 2:30 a.m., and then waited for the alarm system's backup battery died several hours later before breaking in.

"Police said this is not an amateur, it was definitely somebody who knows what they are doing," Stradalli told the Camera. "This is not their first time."
