Foothills Highway Closed Overnight After Wrong-Way Crash: Police
Police used a new, real-time communication app to keep the public informed of developments.
BOULDER, CO -- Officers responded to an accident that closed Foothills Highway at Valmont Road at 12:45 a.m. this morning, according to the Boulder Police Department. The crash occurred after a driver reported collided with oncoming traffic while driving the wrong way in the highway's northbound lanes.
Using a new mobile app launched this month to help keep the public informed of police activity, officers were able to update any would-be night travelers of developments and recommended detours.

By 2:14 a.m., police were able to report that the accident had been cleared and the highway was once again open in both directions.

The Colorado State Patrol also responded to the incident. Police have not yet released information regarding the status of the crash victims. More information will be posted as it is available.
