Here are the top three stories today in Boulder:
- Help keep over 1,500 kids safe on Prom Night and support the Fairview High School and Boulder High School After Prom. FHS-BHS After Prom Inc. is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that was created 25 years ago by concerned parents and administrators after a series of tragic alcohol/drug-related accidents claimed the lives of eleven Denver/Boulder Metro teens in the 1990s. Returning after a three-year COVID hiatus the goal is to reinstate After Prom this year and to keep it going for future years. More than just a party, After Prom brings students together from Boulder’s two largest high schools for an epic and memorable night of fun. It provides food, music, activities, prizes and most importantly, a safe ride home. The organization is asking for tax-free donations for this year's event. Interested community members are invited to visit the website at Fairview / Boulder High After Prom – FHS & BHS in Boulder, Colorado. (fhsbhsafterprom.org)
- Grants applications are now open to non-profits who need funds for wildfire mitigation outreach and education. Grants are also being offered for forest and grassland management. Funding for the grants is through the wildfire mitigation sales and use tax. The deadline for applications is coming up soon on April 3. - Lace-up your running shoes and register now for the Superhero 5K benefitting Boulder Voices for Children, which will be held on April 2 at Twisted Pine Brewing Company. Featuring live music, free burritos and beer (for those over 21). There will be a 1k fun run for kids and more! Race you there! (Boulder Voices for Children via Facebook)
