Hot Rize 40th Anniversary Bash At Boulder Theater: Get Tickets
The local bluegrass heroes are pairing with special guests for an unforgettable evening — and we've got some discounted tickets.

BOULDER, CO -- It was 1978 when local music heroes Pete Wernick, Tim O'Brien, Nick Forster, and Charles Sawtelle first came together to make Hot Rize, an award-winning bluegrass band. The group has won the Entertainer of the Year award from IBMA, and has been featured on A Prairie Home Companion, the Grand Ole Opery, and a variety of European tours. In 1999, Sawtelle passed away and was replaced by North Carolinian Bryan Sutton on guitar, but since 2002, the group's lineup has remained constant
Forty years in, their fans remain as devoted as ever, and many Colorado bands that followed their path cite Hot Rize as an influence and inspiration. Michael Cleveland and Red Knuckles & The Trailblazers will join them at the Boulder Theater Jan. 18–19 for an unforgettable evening of music with roots.
