Injured Hiker Evacuated From Rabbit Mountain

BOULDER COUNTY, CO -- A woman was injured while hiking on a rocky section of the Rabbit Mountain Open Space Sunday, according to a news release from the Boulder County Sheriff's Office. The 59-year-old woman was on an inaccessible section of the trail about one third of a mile from the trailhead.

Rocky Mountain Rescue conducted an evacuation that transported the woman about 100 yards downhill and across the hillside to the access road. She was then transported to a local hospital by American Medical Response.

The sheriff's office, Hygiene Fire Department, and a Boulder County Park Ranger also responded to the incident.
