Inmate Dies In Boulder County Jail
The man had been booked earlier in the day; an investigation is underway.

BOULDER, CO -- An inmate at the Boulder County Jail collapsed after suffering an acute medical issue on Dec. 29, according to an investigation by the Boulder County Sheriff's department. Despite attempted lifesaving measures, including CPR and use of an AED, the 69-year-old man was pronounced dead at 6 p.m. Saturday evening.
At about 5:30 p.m. that night, a deputy working a medium security module of the jail was notified that the inmate was suffering from some kind of medical emergency and needed assistance. Jail medical staff and other deputies quickly responded and found the inmate, who had been booked into the jail just after midnight that morning, unconscious.
Jail medical staff and deputies continued resuscitative efforts until the paramedics from AMR Ambulance and Boulder Fire arrived. The paramedics continued the efforts, but the man was pronounced dead within the hour, according to the sheriff's department.
