Longmont Firefighters Rescue Cat Trapped For Three Days In Tree
Amid freezing temperatures and snow, local firefighters deployed the ladder truck and brought Lily the cat home for New Year's.

LONGMONT, CO -- Longmont firefighters started off 2019 with one very fuzzy rescue. At about 9:30 a.m. on New Year's Day, the fire department received a call about a cat that had gotten stuck in a tree. Lily was 45 feet off the ground, and according to her owners, she hadn't budged in a day, despite subzero temperatures.
"We know it’s cliche, but yes, sometimes firefighters do rescue cats from trees!" the Longmont Fire Department wrote in a Facebook post along with photos from the morning's rescue.
Longmont Fire spokeswoman Molly Cropp told the Times-Call that Lily ate two full cans of food that afternoon and was "obviously pretty hungry" after her adventure.
