Longmont Skydiving Death Ruled Accident: FAA
The Federal Aviation Administration issues a ruling in the mysterious death of a 23-year-old Simla man.

LONGMONT, CO -- The Federal Aviation Administration has ruled that the death related to an October skydiving trip near Longmont was an accident, according to reporting by the Longmont Times-Call. Logan Polfuss, 23, of Simla, CO, was found dead on Oct. 19 west of Vance Brand airport after his girlfriend reported him missing after the planned trip.
According to the Times-Call, an FAA report indicated that the specialized tracking suit used Polfuss might have caused issues during the skydive, and ultimately led to his death. That report also states that video footage from Mile-Hi Skydiving and Vance Brand Municipal Airport was "not conclusive."
The Times-Call notes that the FAA report does not mention the gap in time between when Polfuss jumped — shortly before 1 p.m. on Oct. 18 — and when he was found the following morning.
