Longmont Spring Tree Branch 2019 Pickup Begins April 1

Here are the dates for each neighborhood, along with rules for what can and cannot be put out for the service.

LONGMONT, CO -- Spring is here—the birds are singing, the crocuses are popping out, and it's time for the annual tree-branch pickup in Longmont. The service will take place from April 1–12 this year, with homes north of 9th Avenue scheduled for pickup between April 1 and 5 and homes south of 9th scheduled between April 8 and 12. All branches need to be on your curb before 7 a.m. Monday on the week of your collection.

Here are the rules for this year's spring branch collection:

  • Branches must be stacked. Limbs must be cut up into lengths no longer than 6 feet, and no limb may be larger than 6 inches in diameter. Limbs must be placed into stacks no larger than 3 feet in diameter. Stacks should be spaced at least 2 feet apart so they do not interlock. Piles and limbs exceeding these requirements will not be collected.
  • Limbs must be placed in the gutter off the sidewalk, no closer than two feet from any fence, building, or obstacle that would interfere with the pickup of the pile by the loader.
  • Limbs will not be collected in alleys or on private property. Even if your trash/recycling collection occurs in an alley, you must place limbs curbside in front of your property for pick-up.

Be aware: Don't put your limbs out early. According to information on the City of Longmont website, municipal code prohibits placing items in the street prior to the Saturday before special collections, so jumping the gun could land you with a citation.
