Man Airlifted From Eldora Ski Area With Spinal Injuries

Further details on his condition have not yet been released.

NEDERLAND, CO -- A 48-year-old man was airlifted from Eldora Mountain Resort on Monday afternoon with head and spinal injuries, according to Boulder County Sheriff’s Office. The sheriff was notified at approximately 12:45 p.m. of a non-collision accident. After the man reportedly lost consciousness, the airlift was requested.

The Daily Camera spoke with James VanGuilder, who was reportedly one of the first to find the man. "There were bits of his helmet all over," VanGuilder said. "I didn't see the crash, I just witnessed the aftermath."

According to VanGuilder, the crash occurred on the Salto Glades run at the resort.

The man's name has not been released, and it is not currently known what condition he is in or what specifically caused his injuries.
