Police Arrest Axe-Wielding Man Near Grocery Store

The suspect was taken to the Boulder County Jail.

BOULDER, CO -- Boulder police have arrested a man accused of threatening another person with an axe, according to a report from the Boulder Police Department. The incident occurred shortly before 9 p.m. on Thursday night in the area of the Sunrise Shopping Center on 30th Street.

Officers responded to the area and made contact with the victim, who was uninjured, and provided a physical description of the suspect. Within 15 minutes, police found the suspect near an abandoned building to the east side of the King Soopers grocery store. An axe was nearby, and the victim positively identified the suspect.

The suspect was arrested on suspicion of felony menacing, and transported to the Boulder County Jail.
