Storm Update: Heaviest Snow Tonight, Stay Off Roads If Possible

Snow is expected to continue through Sunday evening with accumulations up to 12 inches near the Foothills.

BOULDER, CO -- Boulder County remains under a winter weather advisory scheduled to continue through Sunday morning. Total accumulation is expected to be between 4 and 12 inches, with larger amounts closer to the foothills.

Boulder has been on accident alert since about 7 a.m. this morning. If you are in a crash that does not involve injuries or cars that need to be towed, police as that parties exchange information and file an online report after leaving the scene of the accident.

Boulder library branches and recreation centers all closed early, at 5 p.m., due to the storm.

Tonight's lows are expected to dip into the single digits, and highs on Sunday will top out at about 15 degrees. The bulk of the snow will take place during the night tonight, with light showers continuing throughout the day on Sunday.

The record lows for March 3 and March 4 are 15 degrees and minus 1 respectively, both set in 1978. Both records stand a chance of being broken if forecasts pan out as expected.
