Stovepipe Suspected In Lyons Home Fire
Flames began in the single family home late Saturday evening.

LYONS, CO -- First responders from across Boulder County responded to a residential structure fire in Lyons on Saturday night, according to a report from the Boulder County Sheriff's Office. On Jan. 5 at approximately 9:15 p.m., the Boulder County Communications Center received a 911 call about a structure fire in the 19000 block of North Saint Vrain Road west of Lyons. Upon arrival, responders discovered smoke and flames visible inside a single family home.
One resident and a pet had been able to get out of the home on their own, before first responders arrived on scene, and do not have any injuries. The sheriff's office does not believe that the residence was occupied by any other person or animal.
Agencies responding to the call included the Boulder County Sheriff's Office, Lyons Fire Department, Hygiene Fire Department, investigators from Multi-Agency Fire Investigation Team (MAFIT), and AMR ambulance.

The case remains under investigation, however, the fire appears to have originated in the area of attic where the stove pipe passes through the ceiling for the wood burning stove.
