  1. Help keep over 1,500 kids safe on Prom Night and support the Fairview High School and Boulder High School After Prom. FHS-BHS After Prom Inc. is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that was created 25 years ago by concerned parents and administrators after a series of tragic alcohol/drug-related accidents claimed the lives of eleven Denver/Boulder Metro teens in the 1990s. Returning after a three-year COVID hiatus the goal is to reinstate After Prom this year and to keep it going for future years. More than just a party, After Prom brings students together from Boulder’s two largest high schools for an epic and memorable night of fun. It provides food, music, activities, prizes and most importantly, a safe ride home. The organization is asking for tax-free donations for this year's event. Interested community members are invited to visit the website at Fairview / Boulder High After Prom – FHS & BHS in Boulder, Colorado. (fhsbhsafterprom.org)
  2. The “Beer Here! Brewing the New West”exhibit is currently on display at the Museum of Boulder highlighting the relationship between the Centennial State and its favorite barley-based beverage for more than 160 years. Beer-based artifacts and stories that illustrate the profound influence of beer over the state’s economic, social and environmental development throughout the past two centuries is showcased through five different eras in brewing history, starting in the year 1859 with the gold rush, spanning through the early 20th century with the industrial boom, passing through the prohibition, to the era of Coors and ending in present-day Colorado with the craft beer movement. It's been quite a journey! Check it out! (museumofboulder.org.)
  3. Hikers are leaving more behind at Everest than just memories. New CU Boulder-led research has discovered that hikers are also leaving behind frozen, hardy microbes. According to Colordo.edu, "[These microbes] can withstand harsh conditions at high elevations and lie dormant in the soil for decades or even centuries. The research highlights an invisible impact of tourism on the world’s highest mountain. The findings were published last month in Arctic, Antarctic, and Alpine Research, a journal published on behalf of the Institute of Arctic and Alpine Research (INSTAAR) at CU Boulder." (colardo.edu)
