SUPERIOR, CO -- Despite Wall Street Journal reports late last week that Tesla would be shifting sales online, Superior officals maintain that plans are still on for a sales and service center in Superior's downtown district, according to the Daily Camera. Superior Town Manager Matt Magley told the Camera Friday that his staff gets frequent updates from Tesla and the recent disclosure has "no impact to us and our store."

"We got the message the other day they're moving full speed ahead," Magley told the Camera.

Some criticized Superior's decision last year to welcome the electric car manufacturing giant as a centerpiece in the downtown area, citing the risks of market volatility. Nonetheless, Tesla signed a 10-year lease at the McCaslin and Marshall location with three, five-year options to renew. Under that agreement, the land is only authorized for electric car dealership occupancy.
