  1. Have you checked out Junkyard Social Club located on East Pearl in Boulder? It's a place that loves hosting kid camps and homeschool classes, just as much as it loves throwing concerts and cocktail nights. According to a recent press release, "it's Boulder’s rebel museum, adventure playground and cool cafe for adventurous families and creative adults. By day, there are science experiments, junkyard art projects, kids’ camps and imaginative play with coffee house drinks and fare. By night, there is performance art, comedy clubs and game nights with lively conversation, honest expression, light bites and a full bar. Beginning today, the "club" is excited to announce that it is significantly expanding its programming and hours. To celebrate its expansion, Junkyard Social Club is hosting a free Pi Day Open House, today from 3 - 7 p.m., with free admission and activities for families and adults, including scavenger hunts, a nerdy math quest, local peach pie beer specials and slices of pizza pie or baked pie in the cafe. Hope to see you there! (Junkyard Social Club)
  2. The weather this week looks good for the first part and then changes over to make sure we don't think winter is over for the second half. According to the US National Weather Service Denver/Boulder Colorado: "It will be warm and dry early in the week. Colder air and snow will move into the mountains on Wednesday and spread to the plains for Wednesday night and Thursday. For Friday into the weekend it will be cool and dry." (US National Weather Service Denver/Boulder Colorado via Facebook)
  3. Let's think about spring and gardens! Here is some useful advice about starting your own garden from 5280.com, so you can plan ahead. Things to consider; the most economical way to go is to start your garden from seed, it will give you a better opportunity to have access to a wider selection of choices. For warm-weather plants, start the seeds indoors with seed trays or containers, soil, water, and a strong source of light. Look for seed providers and varieties that have been selected for the unique arid and high-altitude conditions of the inter-mountain West and have some fun. Grow vegetables and flowers that you never have before! Don't be afraid to try something new! (5280.com)
