Woman Requires Rescue On Eldorado Hiking Trail: Sheriff

The hiker was hospitalized with a leg injury.

BOULDER, CO -- A woman required a rescue on the Eldorado hiking trail after she slipped and injured her left leg on Sunday, Jan. 13, according to a press release from the Boulder County Sheriff's Office. The 23-year-old from Littleton was roughly a quarter mile from the trailhead when the incident occurred. She was alert and with other hikers.

Rescuers from Rocky Mountain Rescue arrived on scene and prepared the patient for travel back to the trailhead. She was transported out on a litter to an awaiting ambulance, and taken to an area hospital for a suspected broken leg.

Representatives from the Boulder County Sheriff's Office, the Rocky Mountain Rescue Group, the Colorado Parks and Wildlife, and the Rocky Mountain Fire Protection District all responded to the incident.
