World-Famous Yoga Workshop Closes Doors In Downtown Boulder
The studio, home to renowned ashtanga instructor Richard Freeman, has had a devoted community for more than 30 years.

BOULDER, CO -- Boulder's Yoga Workshop was founded by Richard Freeman and Mary Taylor in 1987, and has maintained a devoted following of students as dozens of other studios have come and gone. The studio will be closing the doors at its downtown location for the last time on March 31, according to a Monday night Facebook post.
The studio's building has been sold to a developer, according to the post, in which current studio director Ty and Shayann Landrum assured devotees that they plan to reopen soon in another location.
"We are saddened by this sudden loss, but hardly surprised, as our building has been stalked by developers for a long time," they wrote. "We are also amazed to see the brilliant culmination of this remarkable center, as vibrant as ever."
