Lakewood To Host Rockin' Block Party Summer Kickoff

A free party will be hosted at Heritage Lakewood Belmar Park under public health guidelines, organizers said.

LAKEWOOD, CO — As COVID-19 vaccination rates continue to climb in Colorado, event planners are busy trying to bring back annual classics, such as Lakewood's Rockin' Block Party. And so far, the city's block party planners have succeeded — the popular, free celebration is scheduled to be held from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. June 4 at Heritage Lakewood Belmar Park, 801 S. Yarrow St.

The party will include a beer garden, food trucks and live 90s music covered by local bands Ninety Percent 90s and Just a Girl, organizers said.

An outdoor screening of the 1993 classic "Jurassic Park" will then be shown at dusk.

Reservations for the music and movie must be made separately, with a suggested donation of $5 per person, which will help Lakewood continue to provide low-cost and free events for the community, city organizers said.

"Jefferson County Public Health guidelines will be strictly followed, to include limited capacity and mask requirements," the city said in a news release.

Pending capacity allowances, additional tickets will be released at 6 p.m. on May 27, organizers said.

Rockin’ Block Party is supported by the SCFD, Gravina’s Window Center of Littleton, Foothills Credit Union, Alameda Connects and Tedford Commercial Real Estate.
