Lakewood's Annual Sustainability Awards: How To Nominate A Hero

New categories have been added to the annual awards, officials announced.

LAKEWOOD, CO — Nominations are being accepted for the annual Lakewood Sustainability Awards, which recognize people who are making a difference in the community and doing their part to help the environment.

"From environmental stewardship to educating peers, from implementing a sustainable business practice to introducing sustainability concepts in schools, the accomplishments of previous winners are as diverse as they are powerful," the city said in a news release.

Two new categories have been added to the awards for 2021: Legacy and Business Innovation. The new categories will "amplify the awards’ mission to recognize leadership in sustainability across Lakewood, and they will join the existing categories of Community, Defender of the Planet and Eco-Employee," officials said.
