Print Shop Tree Program, Community Farm Win Sustainability Awards
Businesses, residents and schools to be honored for green projects in Lakewood.
LAKEWOOD, CO – Lakewood will honor the companies, schools and residents who help the city look toward the future with sustainable practices.
The 2019 Lakewood Sustainability Awards will be handed out May 13 at the Civic Center, 480 S. Allison Parkway, beginning at the Lakewood city council meeting at 7 p.m. A reception will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. beforehand, the city said in a press release.
This year's winners include the Minuteman Press company in Lakewood, which converts the paper footprint of its clients into the planting of trees in a seamless process that offsets their paper consumption, and the company does it at no extra cost for their customers. Owner Michael Inzitari launched the PrintReleaf platform in April 2018. Since its inception, the company has had 151 trees planted, offsetting more than 1.25 million standard pages of paper.
