Avon Library To Host Major Book Sale Event

The three-day sale this weekend will benefit the library and help folks stock up for their cold-weather reading.

AVON, CT — The local booster organization supporting the Avon Free Public Library has a massive fund-raising book sale this weekend to help the library.

The 2025 Friends of the Avon Library Used Book Sale will take place Friday, Oct. 17, through Sunday, Oct. 19, with all books on sale being for adults (no children's books).

It offers a means for the community to support both their local library and their reading habit with low-cost literary options.

The sale will take place at the library, which is located at 281 Country Club Road, Avon, inside the building's community room. All major credit cards are accepted.

The schedule is as follows:

• Friday, Oct. 17, 4 to 8 p.m., this preview sale comes with a $10 admission charge for non-members of the Friends of the Avon Library. Members get in for free.

• Saturday, Oct. 18, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. No admission fee.

• Sunday, Oct. 19, noon to 3 p.m. No admission fee. There is a "bag sale" on this day. For $10, guests get a bag, and they can fill it up with as many books as they can fit.

It should be noted that the library is hosting a special kids/teen book sale on Saturday, Oct. 25, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The library asks that guests not bring their strollers into the sale in order to ensure enough room to get around.
