Celebrate National Trails Day on June 1 in Avon

Reconnect with nature in Avon with an educational walk through Fisher Meadows on National Trails Day!

Avon will be marking the national event with short, guided family hikes starting at 10 a.m. on June 1, according to the Connecticut Forest and Parks Association pamphlet. 

Bikers can also participate in a Trails-in-Motion ride along the Farmington Canal Heritage Trail and Farmington River Trail on June 1. All events begin and end in Simsbury.

A total of 152 Connecticut towns will be celebrating National Trails Day on June 1 and 2, according to the Connecticut Forest & Park Association.
