Another Forum Slated On Berlin Food Plant's Odor, Noise Issues
It will take place on Wednesday, April 30, at Berlin Town Hall, and it will address the ongoing situation regarding a food waste plant.
BERLIN, CT — Local officials on Wednesday, April 30, will host another public forum to address the ongoing Bright Feeds saga in town.
The event will take place at 6 p.m. at Berlin Town Hall's town council chambers, 240 Kensington Road, Berlin.
Several local officials will be on hand to discuss updates on Bright Feeds' efforts to address both odor and noise concerns in the community.

Expected at the program are Berlin Mayor Mark Kaczynski, state Rep. Donna Veach, R-Berlin, along with representatives from the state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection, the state Department of Public Health, and the Central CT Health District.
In recent months, odor and noise issues at the local food processing plant have been a cause for concern in the community, prompting Bright Feeds and the town to work toward a resolution.

Bright Feeds operates a food processing plant at 76 Fuller Way, Berlin, and, last month, it began installing necessary equipment to make the plant less stinky and quieter.
The company takes food waste and turns it into animal feed for agricultural uses, but many folks claim that the process comes with a stinky and noisy price.
Berlin officials said Bright Feeds received a "regenerative thermal oxidizer (RTO)" on Monday, March 24, which is supposed to eliminate odor issues there.
