Berlin Gardeners Will Gather To Plan Invasive Plant Fight
A forum will take place on Thursday night at the Berlin Library to discuss ways to combat invasive plant species.
BERLIN, CT — The calendar still says 'winter,' but a local program Thursday evening hosted by the local land trust and a local gardening club will address a major scourge come springtime.
The Berlin Land Trust and the Kensington Garden Club is hosting a program called "Invasive Plants: Stop Them Before They Take Over Your Landscape."
It will take place at the Berlin-Peck Memorial Library, 234 Kensington Road, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.

"Invasive plants are very aggressive, robust plants that can overwhelm your landscaping and crowd out desirable plants," wrote event organizers.
" This workshop will focus on identifying the most common and troublesome invasive plants, discuss options for removing them, and suggest strategies to prevent them from reappearing."

Hosting the event is gardening expert Richard Dalidowitz, who attained master gardener status with the University of Rhode Island.
While the program is free, registration is requested online.
