Berlin Historical Society Goes All Out For Berlin Fair

The history group's barn on the fairgrounds will be chock full of special exhibits for fair goers.

BERLIN, CT — When the Berlin Fair opens later this week for another long weekend of food, fun, and community spirit, you can add one more attraction — history.

The Berlin Historical Society's Historical Museum Barn will be open at the Berlin Fair, Sept. 12-15. Society officials said it is "a must-see."

"Our talented Janice Jacobs and Donna Rudge continue to amaze us with new vignettes in the tavern area," wrote the Berlin Historical Society recently. " You won’t want to miss Ghost Stories of Berlin with a new scavenger hunt for families to enjoy."

• Exhibits on the society's place in the Connecticut Freedom Trail and on the iconic old days of the Berlin Turnpike.

• A gallery devoted to the 75th anniversary of Berlin Lions Club’s resurrection of the Berlin Fair.

• The award-winning film for best CT documentary on Berlin’s Black soldiers of the 29th Regiment.

• A new DVD on the history of the fair in Berlin will be viewable.
